Valencia: the Prehistory Museum
The Prehistory Museum of Valencia (Museu de Prehistòria de València) exposes artifacts from the Paleolithic to the Visigoth periods. It was started in 1927, and remains one of the most important in its sector through the whole region.
The Prehistory Museum of Valencia was born as a scientific institution that wanted to study, preserve and promote the local archeological heritage. In 1982 its headquarters became the Old House of Charity, an old complex in the middle of the city centre. Within it are included a bar, two halls for temporary exhibitions, a restoration lab and laboratories. An ancient Byzantine church that dates back to 1881 is used as a conference hall. Within the complex you will explore the history of Valencia through the artifacts that were found in its vicinity.
