Edinburgh: Our Dynamic Earth
Our Dynamic Earth is a science built in the Scottish capital. It is located at the base of the tall hill that dominates the city (Arthur’s Seat), besides the Parliament in the Holyrood area. The Centre is also used to hold conferences of international interest, followed by researchers and scientists. The director himself, Dr Stuart Monro, is a famous Scottish geologist that had a fundamental role in operating the first exhibitions by guaranteeing that they were scientifically accurate.
The Centre has opened in 1999 thanks to the help of the Millennim Commission, a British organization that seeks to encourage the spread of knowledge as the third millennium approached. The structure is modern, and it brings modernization to the area in which it was built. Nowadays, the Our Dynamic Earth continues to encourage the comprehension of the earth’s phenomena to its visitors: among these, we find students, families or just curious people.
