Hotel Continental is located in a prestigious building overlooking Canal Grande, filled with charm and history. The architecture dates back to the 15th century when the noble Frizier family had it built to use as their residence.

During the 18th century the dynasty died out and the building was donated to Opera Pia del Capitolo di San Geremia, and over the centuries it was renovated and expanded until reaching the structure that we see today.
The exteriors are tasteful and typically Venetian, while the interior of the hotel exudes the ambiance of a great elegant hotel, starting right from the lobby. A facility where hospitality is combined with a sharp eye for detail.
The reception, with floors in yellow Siena marble and white marble from Portugal, greets guests in a space admirable for its beauty and stately elegance. The top quality materials are combined with a refined taste and excellent architecture of traditionally Venetian spaces and furniture. Hotel Continental is located in the perfect spot for those who wish to comfortably visit Venice: it is on Canal Grande in Lista di Spagna, just before the beginning of Strada Nova, one of the city's main pedestrian streets and unquestionably the most picturesque stroll which runs between the train station and leads to Rialto.


There are many shops along the way for shopping fans, numerous "bacari" (traditional Venetian snack bars) and a colorful neighborhood market near Ponte delle Guglie.
The hotel is also just steps from the train station and Piazzale Roma. To get to the most famous sights such as Rialto or San Marco, just follow the route which passes in front of the hotel or take a vaporetto from the Ferrovia stop located a few minutes from the Continental. Public transportation leaves from here and runs along all of the wonderful Canal Grande stopping near the most important monuments and museums, including Ca' Vendramin Calergi, home to Venice's Casino, Ca' D'Oro, a splendid example of 15th century architecture, the Gallerie dell'Accademia, the most important gallery in Venice and among the most important in the world, the Collezione Peggy Gugghenheim, an excellent collection of contemporary American art and then head for the Giardini, the exposition site of Biennale di Venezia and Lido, the city's beach where the Mostra Internazionale del Cinema is held each year.
For those who wish to grant themselves all comforts, the hotel has a landing on Canal Grande, where it is possible to take a water taxi.

Just steps from Hotel Continental, in the heart of the Cannaregio quarter, are some art and history gems not to be missed: Palazzo Labia, now home to Rai; Ca' Vendramin Calergi, site of Venice's casino, a splendid example of Renaissance architecture, which hosted the famous musician Richard Wagner who died here in 1883 and whose rooms have been turned into a lovely museum, of great interest for music lovers.

Ca' D'Oro, a lovely 15th century aristocratic residence, currently Galleria Franchetti, houses a wonderful collection of paintings, including the famous "Saint Sebastian" by Mantegna, and works by the greatest 16th century Venetian and Flemish painters. Palazzo Labia is a luxurious 18th century residence with a marvelous fresco cycle by Tiepolo.

Venice's Jewish Ghetto is very evocative. It is the oldest known and developed around Campo del Ghetto Novo, where the fascinating Museo Ebraico is found along with the Schole, the five synagogues of the Ghetto.

How to reach us
By train
The hotel is just a short walk from Venice's Santa Lucia train station. When you leave the station go left. Hotel Continental is 200 meters from here on the right on Lista di Spagna.

By plane
From Venice's "Marco Polo" airport:
- by private water taxi until the hotel's private landing;
- by the shuttle bus "Venezia Air Terminal", which will take you to Piazzale Roma. Then on foot along Fondamenta Croce and Fondamenta San Simeon Piccolo towards the train station. After Ponte degli Scalzi, turn right on Lista di Spagna, after 100 meters you will see the hotel.
· with the Alilaguna motorboat until San Zaccaria; from here with motorboat 1 or 2 to the train station and then right on Lista di Spagna for 200 meters until the hotel.

From Treviso's "San Giuseppe" airport:
with ATVO Eurobus bus to Piazzale Roma in 45 minutes. Then on foot along Fondamenta Croce and Fondamenta San Simeon Piccolo towards the train station. After Ponte degli Scalzi, turn right on Lista di Spagna, the hotel is 100 meters away.

By car
Park in Piazzale Roma, then walk along Fondamenta Croce and Fondamenta San Simeon Piccolo towards the train station. After Ponte degli Scalzi, turn right on Lista di Spagna, the hotel is 100 meters away.

Restaurant
The restaurant is an additional source of pride for Hotel Continental. Charming, open until late at night, it is located in a very pleasant room inspired by the elegant and refined 18th century Venetian style and has a splendid view of Canal Grande.


The "a la carte" menu proposes typical Venetian cuisine specialties, skillfully and creatively interpreted by the chef, who also offers the best international cuisine dishes, to satisfy the tastes of the hotel's increasingly cosmopolitan guests.
